Tonight Mathew...

Day 54:
Silver heels from Missguided.

Happy New Year's Eve one and all. Tonight I'm celebrating with some of my favourite people. The theme is the letter A for Andy Stanbury's birthday. He was born the same day as Jesus (cue the Catholic nod). So as result we are celebrating Andy's birthday tonight. Happy Birthday Andy Pandy (his fancy dress outfit).

So tonight Mathew we have:
Me - Angel (naturally)
Amie - Alice in Wonderland
Andy - Andy Pandy
Gemma - An Apple
James - Alien
Corinna - Air stewardess (also the one of hosts of the party)
Tom - Airplane pilot (the other host)
Katie - Amy Winehouse RIP

Tonight we are 'A's' and tomorrow we will need AA.

Happy NYE.

Two of your five a day.

Day 53:
Pink vintage flats

These are the most comfortable flats I own plus they're vintage so that makes me very happy.

They have some fruit on the side which you can't really see in this pic because I've taken a terrible picture. David Bailey I am not, thank goodness because I'm a girl. I blame the coat tails of storm Frank for this photo. It was rather cold and windy whilst I was waiting for the bus and to be honest taking a pic of my shoes was my least of my priorities. Getting to the gym to work of my cheese hips was more important. I'll try better tomorrow. Double promise.

Happy New Year's Eve Eve everyone.

Should have been a centipede

Day 52:
Metallic lace up flats from Topshop.

These are only a few weeks old so weren't part of the original census meaning I've made this challenge a little longer!!! Please stay tuned for an extra few days!

Ok, in truth it's going to more like an extra 10 days. It isn't really my fault, I blame Christmas and sample sales at work for the increase in shoes. See, totally not my fault.

For the love of cheese

Day 51:
Metallic flats from Boohoo

Not much to say about these other than they still need to be broken in despite the fact I fitted them on my own feet when I worked at Boohoo.

Back to work tomorrow and the gym. My hips are now made of cheese.

Glue that is super duper

Day 50:
Vintage navy blue peep toe heels from Bally.

These shoes have been friends with superglue for many a year. The gold trim bead that sits at the front have separated from the shoe a fair few times and instead of throwing them away I've made them (ahem) firm friends with Mr Superglue. It's done the job because here I am wearing them. Well done me and well done glue that is super.

Round one to Clarks

Day 49:
Animal print embellished flats.

These are new, from Clarks. Father Christmas put them under the tree which was nice of him. He didn't tell me though that they came with a blister on my left heel. Thanks for that. Happy Boxing Day to my left foot.

Friday, 25 December 2015

I'm a size 4/37

Day 48:
Pom Pom trim heels from Missguided.

Just finished watching Cinderella, one only child to another. Both like nice shoes, both like men we can't have. In that case I shall me known as Cinderlaura.

Me father (said in an Irish accent)

Day 47:
Black mules from banana republic

Merry Christmas Eve. Or happy it's Father Christmas Day. Either way Christmas is at the door and what better way to celebrate than with a pair of banana republic mules. I'm wearing these with a vintage pearl top (photos to follow) and a glass of whatever is alcoholic.

This entry goes to my wonderful Dad Peter who as I was growing up looked as Christmas Eve in two different ways:

Christmas 1986/7: Walthamstow, East London:
Father Christmas enters the living room
Me: Wow, It's Father Christmas
What seems like a lifetime later:
Peter Knightley enters the living room
Me: Daddy, Daddy. Father Christmas had your boots on.
My Dad: Wow, well he better give them back.

Some years later and oh how things changed:
Ashampstead, Berkshire. 1992 (circa):
Me: Dad can I leave some sherry for Father Christmas?
My Dad: it'll be a waste, you know I don't drink.
Hmmppph: Bar humbug Mr Knightley.

Either either, my Dad is the only father I need so with that Happy Christmas Eve to one and all.

If feet could speak

Day 46:
Velvet boots from Boohoo.

These are my it's nearly Christmas boots.  My feet wouldn't agree. My feet are desperate for slippers or at the very least a pair of comfy flats. Luckily my feet can't speak and if they did I wouldn't listen. I was born wearing heels so tough luck feet.

I have to admit though there were a few times at work today where I did think; ok feet you're right comfy flats would be good right now. This was after I had spent most of the morning looking for a sample that wasn't even in the office. It went a bit like this.

Person A: can you find so and so sample, it's here somewhere (translation: can you find a sample that you've never seen and has never been in this office)

Person B: ok

Sometime later after looking on every single rail you can think of including rails that don't belong to said department.

Person A: have you found it.
Person B: no
A: just remembered the sample doesn't actually exist.
My feet: F***%#\ f*%#@

Welcome to the world of buying w/c Xmas week. I should have been a cleaner.

Tuesday, 22 December 2015

I've been booted.

Day 45:
Black zip boots from New Look

These boots hate my feet which I think is quite mean. What have my feet done to them? Nothing, exactly. Bloody mean.

As you can see the crazy vintage maxi dress is here again. It's like a bad boyfriend, turns up when least expected. It was quite an experience wearing this dress in the windy weather today and being only 5ft 2 inches I almost got blown over a number of times. What a way to get to work. The bus was running late so I decided to get blown here by the wind instead. Better than saying my dog ate my homework miss.

I feel like I'm getting something that rhymes with mould and begins with a C. I'm scared of mould and I hate being cold or anything associated with the word so it's an early night for me. Luther is on tonight. I need me a Luther.

Good night

Boring burgundy

Day 44:
Burgundy heels from Topshop

Love these, had them a few years. Great for work and go with everything. Basically I have a lot of time for these heels. They are a bit of a default because they look ok with tights and with my fair Irish skin.

That's all really for today, can't say much more about these shoes or the day that we universally call Monday.

Maybe Mr Wit and Miss Humour will return tomorrow. Let's hope so coz I've bored myself with this entry so gawd only knows how you feel.

Happy Xmas week Monday.

Training to be casual

Day 43:
Converse trainers in blue

No dear reader your eyes are not deceiving you I am in fact wearing trainers and I'm not in the gym nor am I running a half marathon. Those of you who know we well know that me and trainers are only at one when I'm running. However as this challenge means I have to wear every pair of shoes I own I felt that if I had to wear these then a Sunday would be the best day to wear them. So here there are. I walked a near 4 miles in them today so they were well worn today.

I'm wearing them with black jeans and a blue denim shirt with my green bomber jacket. Who am I? What have I done with Laura Knightley. I've never been so casual, bring on Monday. I need my heels.

I bought these in L.A when I was travelling nearly 10 years ago as as you can see they've hardly been warn (apart from today) I should really wear them more but only on a Sunday. You certainly won't catch me in them at work or any kind of luncheon. The later occasion is always a heel occasion with no acceptions.

Apprentice final is on, wonder which one of new mates will win.

Saturday, 19 December 2015

You're fired

Day 42:
Sparkly socks

Why do I need to wear shoes when I'm spending the day watching TV. Sparkly socks are the next best thing.

It turns out that a free bar equals a rather large hangover. Funny that. It also equals meeting all of the apprentice candidates. FYI Gary is very nice and really quite handsome in real life. I called it a once in a lifetime experience. I say I called it, it's more like the countless glasses of Sauvignon blanc that actually said it. Let's face it meeting the apprentices isn't really a once in a life time experience, it's barely an experience. Great night though. It was worth the fuzzy head this morning.

Heath & Safety

Day 41:
Spike heels from Carvela

These are my ultimate party shoes. Worn well with all party dresses and most wines. However as you can see they have a number of spikes. Whilst they look good they do breech some health and safety rules. Basically when they catch the other foot they hurt but sometimes fashion hurts. I should know I work in it and I've been wounded many a time. Tonight shoes are worn with wine. Happy Friday wine day

Crashing into a gate

Day 40:
Gold trim vintage heels.

These are by far my favourite vintage shoes. They literally go with everything. Vintage dresses, normal civilian dresses, Joni high waisted skinny jeans. The list goes on. The best wear to wear these shoes though is with a glass of wine which I'm going to do pretty soon.

I'm on my way to gatecrash a party. Hope I live to tell the tale.

Buying is soooo last season.

Day 39:
Peep toe black boots from Dune

Let's call today the worlds longest day or let's call it the worlds meanest day. I think I ran half a marathon in the office so I'm glad I had these boots on, they are quite comfy. My evening should have involved eating Maylasion food with my very best friend, instead I ate a pasta salad from sainsburys. The perils of buying. If anyone finds my social life let me know, I was quite fond of it. Spending my evening in an empty office is not my idea of Wednesday night. Today's entry is for Becki, sorry my job is mean. I promise I'll make it up to you. Heart you lots.

Rain rain go away

Day 38:
Blush vintage flats.

I hated this shoe challenge this morning. I wanted to wear a particular dress but the heels I wanted to wear with it I had already worn. It annoyed me and made me late in leaving the flat. I was very close to cheating but decided against because I'm no quitter.

After going through countless shoes I decided on these vintage flats. They look a bit sorry for themselves as they got caught in the rain on the way to the gym. All in all I would definitely call today terrible Tuesday. The only saving grace is that Luther is back on and I would swap my whole shoe collection to be Mrs John Luther / Mrs Idris Alba.

Monday blues

Day 37:
Silver/white heels.

These I wear to death, which is why they look quite scruffy. They have a low heel and a vintage look so they get a tick. They are worn with bags under eyes and new jet black Joni jeans from topshop.

I'd like to know who invented Monday's because they have a lot to answer for. It's simply a horrible day. Mean Monday followed by terrible Tuesday, why me Wednesday, tryant Thursday (Thursday is our worst day in the office) and finishing with frightful Friday. It's fine though because once the millionaire husband turns up everyday will be a wonderful weekend.....and then I wake up.

Magpie money

Day 36:
Black boots with gold heel from topshop.

Love these boots, I'm a bit of a magpie really so anything that's gold and shiny gets my vote and often my money. Mr Santander gets nervous everytime I enter Topshoo and/or any kind of vintage shop. Poor Mr Santander.

I'm wearing these boots with bleary eyes and my trusty top knot.

3 is the magic number

Day 35:
Black ankle boots from boohoo.

Don't ask me how I'm wearing heels after how my feet felt yesterday but how can I wear my vintage paisley maxi dress with flats? Excatly I can't, I hear you say. It would be like asking a fish to swim without water (impossible). Jane P I know fish don't exist (private joke - soz everyone else).

Anyway I'm wearing heels even though my feet seem to still have their own heartbeat. I'm a professional at this game (wearing heels that is not a professional on the any other kind of game). Anyway anyway (double anyway) let's move on. I'm wearing my favourite maxi dress today. It's on the verge of crazy but not all the way there. It's on the train to crazy vintage dress but decided to get off at 'the socially acceptable vintage dress' which is next to the 'it doesn't look like fancy dress vintage dress but is still a bit crazy' stop. They are both dangerously close to 'proper fancy dress dress' I hope I never get off at that stop.

Can you tell I'm an only child who has an incredible imagination? It's one of the things I pride myself on. My vivid imagination brought about my being just me, my Mum and Dad. Team Knightley Thanks Pat and Peter for only having me. I love being an only child and everything that comes with it.

Elephants feet.

Day 34:
Metal trim slip on trainers from boohoo.

The reason for these shoes is because my feet look like belong to elephant who's gone on a very long walk. They are so swollen and so sore after dancing in those heels last night to Basement Jaxx and these were the only shoes that I could put my poor feet in. My feet absolutely hate me right now.

Here's an update on last nights list:
1. Phone - thought I had lost it turns out it was in my bag the whole time. Woke up with it under my pillow.
2. Keys - they let me into the flat safely so I thank them for that.
3.  Money - after I'd had the 5 free drinks Mr Santander joined the party
4.. Oyster card - it got my there a black cab driver got to home. Don't remember how much it was Mr Santander paid.
5. Dignity- digNOTity.
6. Self respect- I'm 32 and don't remember leaving the party, I think that covers the self respect point.

Needless to say this evening I'm on my mums sofa resting my weary feet and nursing my wine hangover. Christmas you really are festive this year.

Tick tick the mouse ran up the clock

Day 33:
Gold studded heels from River Island.

These are my true party heels and tonight they are being worn with a black beaded vintage dress (naturally) and the obligataty red lips. Off to the Arcadia Christmas party tonight so like every party I attend I go through the following check list:
1. Phone - tick
2. Keys - tick
3. Money - tick
4.. Oyster card - tick
5. Dignity- um no tick more tock
6. Self respect- clock has stopped working.

Tomorrow morning will be fun, can't wait for the wine hangover. Please be nice Mr house white wine. Please please please.

Day 32:
Leopard print peep toes from Kurt Geiger

'Had these for years' that old chestnut I hear you say. This time is true. In fact they are so old I had to superglue the right one on Sunday which didn't work properly because the sole is still detached from the shoe itself. They were together for years and then one day they broke up. They had an argument on the way to my desk from the range room and they will never talk again. I have enough stress in my life to take that on so I might retire them and find a brand new pair who are still working as a pair.

Tonight there are accessoried with a lot of wine and a crazy blouse. What every break up story is made off.

Me and my mate Gym.

Day 31:

Black penny loafers from Dorothy Perkins.

I'm a bit late with today's entry, that's because I spent my normal 'blog entry'
time trying to decide what to wear to the upcoming Christmas parties I have this week. I came to 1 conclusion; I need to move into the gym. Overnight (or 2 years) my hips seem to have turned into a small country. So with that in mind the squat challenge app will be used more than whatsapp for the next 30 days.

Anyway onto today's shoes. I've decided that I'm keeping them as I really quite like them. I think they are quite 'posh mum on the school run' so they have to kept for that reason alone. Well done penny loafers you've done well and I promise to still like you even when my hips are the size of a hula hoop...salt and vinegar need only apply.

Ice skating lessons

Day 30:
Patent flats from H&M

I can't believe I've made it to a month. That's 30 pairs of shoes blogged and I haven't even scratched the surface. I definitely have a shoe problem.

Today's flats could be mistaken for ice skates as I slipped on them several times. The heel has gone on the left one and of course me being me hasn't bothered replacing them so they have become rather slippery. In other words many of my shoes are in breech of health and safety and these are going to get filed in the bin. Sorry shoes but I like my knees to be un-grazed and I feel like when I wear you i'm 5 minutes away embarrassment. Falling over is so 2 weeks ago.

Sunday, 6 December 2015

These don't count.

Day 29:
Trainers

These don't count amongst my shoe collection so that makes today a non-shoe day. A day of feet rest if you will. I ran a 10k this morning hence the trainers. The rest of the day has been spent on the sofa watching tv, just what Sunday's are made for.

Saturday, 5 December 2015

I need to put my feet on a diet

Day 28:
Green vintage flats.

These shoes don't actually fit me but I love them too much to get rid of them so I continue to allow them to attack my feet. I then remember how much they hurt put them back under my bed and attempt to wear them 3 months later in the hope that my feet might have lost weight.

Today I'm wearing them with the biggest dark circles ever. Going out Wednesday, Thursday and Friday has finally caught up with me. There are some serious bags under my green Irish eyes and they are full to the brim of tiredness.

When the cats away...

Day 27:
Kitty cat ballet flats from I don't have a clue...the t'internet.

I bought these after I had quickly realised that I could never afford the original Charlotte Olympia ones. I've probably only worn them a few times and the sole had already split so I will be thowing them away after this challenge is over. Maybe I'll then treat myself to original ones? I'll just need to find myself a spare £400. A very difficult thing to do when you have a vintage clothes addiction and appreciation for white wine.

Off out tonight for few hair of the dogs. I hope the kitty kats don't mind the dogs. We wouldn't want them fighting like cat and dog!

Thursday, 3 December 2015

I'll be at the (T) bar if anyone needs me.

The Day 25:
T-bar patent heels from Boohoo.

These heels had very pretty bows on the them when I bought them but one fell off so I had to take the other one off and do a quick cover up job with some black marker. I'm off to Soho house tonight for an Xmas party so felt these deserved a night on the tiles. Of course they are paired with a vintage dress. That's just default.

Non-wedges day....probably forever

Day 24:
Cross strap heels from New Look

Now these heels nearly got the chop a year ago and were literally about to go to the charity shop when I suddenly realised that I still needed them in my life. I rescued them from a life Unknown. I think they are better of with my even though they do hurt my feet somewhat.

I'm wearing them with lashes of mascara and very chapped lips.

Normally today would be wedgenesday but after last weeks fall I thought it best to keep my distance from wedges until both my knee and pride clear up. I don't want a repeat of arse over tit before 8am. It'll be back one day but only when I get my wedge confidence back. Those wedges are like a shoe equivalent of a horror film. The only difference being they are scary both with the light on and I darkeness. You win wedges everytime.

Tuesday, 1 December 2015

Stud muffin

Day 23:
Nude studded brogues from River Island.

Happy 1st December AKA party heel month. I'm not actually a huge fan of Christmas. I find the run up to it lots of fun, I like the parties naturally as I can wear all my crazy vintage gold, sequin and metallic finds with big heels and vintage fur coats. This year I have a fair few festive parties to attend which is the perfect opportunity to dig out those heels I never wear. Which brings me onto today's pair...

Of course I've had these for years, like much of my shoe collection I had them forever but never ever wear them. After today I think I will wear them more as I had forgotten how much I liked them. I do feel quite sorry for some of shoes as they've lived under my bed like little borrowers for years never actually seeing daylight. I'm sure they all have a vitamin C difficiencey. I'm effectively giving them a holiday (only 1 day though) after all the years of service they've given me.

There is a lesson there, don't by shoes you'll never wear. What? Oh sorry I wasn't listening I was shoe shopping.
